I love food.

In case that hasn't been made evident by my having a food blog, it's true. It also sucks because I have Hashimoto's Disease. For those who don't know, it's an autoimmune disease that attacks my thyroid. Many people (particularly women) have it and stay hypothyroid alone which sucks but makes things easier to manage. I'm on of the lucky ones that swings between hypo (too little) and hyperthyroid. All this makes my relationship with food more complicated. I stay hypo most of the time so looking at food makes me gain weight. Add to that my gluten intolerance and for a while I hated food. I chose to take control of it by learning to cook, and stumbled upon a passion I didn't know I had.

Cooking helped me feel like I’d accomplished something each day. I found healing in it and acceptance in my limitations. And that’s why I started this blog.

I know cooking won't be transformative for everyone, but for those that it isn't, you'll still be able to get great recipes for your energy level. Also because of my gluten issues, every recipe on this blog is gluten free unless stated otherwise.

Posting frequency may not be consistent as I manage a full time business, my illness, and general life. To make sure you get every recipe as it's posted sign up for my newsletter! It will send an email with each new post. Sign up at the bottom of any page on the site.
